Ischia Food Tour

Ischia is a volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea and it is located at the northern end of the Gulf of Naples. It is the largest of the Phlegrean Islands.

Your guide will meet you at the port of Naples or Sorrento for this special tour of Ischia. This private tour will lead you to see the highlights of the island and taste the local food.

Arrived at port, a typical breakfast is waiting for you at Bar Calise. There you will taste Sfogliatella, the most famous pastry of the area.

From Bar Calise you will go from Ischia Porto to Ischia Ponte, where the Aragon Castle rises.

It is an imposing and ancient building and lies on a volcanic islet connected to Ischia by a bridge. Aragon Castle is a symbol of the island, and it was a stronghold in wartime and royal residence in peacetime.

Walking along the narrow lanes of Ischia Ponte, you can admire the beautiful beach of Cartaromana, the perfect place to take a break at the Fruit stand for a juice with fresh seasonal fruits.

Next stop is at the most famous Salumeria of the island to taste a “Panino con mortadella”.

After that you can see the borough of Fontana, the highest village of the island and here you can enjoy your Pasta and local wine glass.

Another important place to see is Sant’Angelo, a fisherman bay at south of the island, where there are the Fumarole, the natural heat source generated by volcanic activity. Some people says you could cook eggs and meat in those Fumarole. The ones located under the sea level create natural thermal baths!

At the end you will reach the top of the happiness with a glass of Vin Santo and then, your driver and guide will leave you at the port, where you will take the jetfoil back to Sorrento or Naples.
